Happy Samhain to everyone.
Ponty's serial killer novel - Ctrl-Alt-Delete - is doing well in
Amazon kindle charts, and is available as a downloadable e-book.
The book is only £1.71 and can also be downloaded onto a PC, Mac, iPhone or iPad if you don't have a kindle. One reviewer said
'Could do for Wales what Stieg Larsson did for Sweden' which is
one hell of a compliment!
The book is set in Cardiff, Trefforest, Pontypridd and Brecon
and is a both a modern love story, a murder mystery and Facebook
stalker crime thriller. No hot gypsies thrown in but there is
always the sequel eh ;
Ponty beat Neef away in a tough match to go joint top of the
table in the Welsh Premiership.
23 Oct 11
Wales lost to Australia thanks to a few missed kicks :( but all
looks good for the 6 Nations in 2012 even if a different France
turned up against the Blacks in the final. Ponty win again
though and move to joint 2nd in the table with a top of the
table clash away to Neef next week!
Hal Griffiths is about to become famous as more and more people
want to 'add him as a friend' on Facebook. To find out more just
go to: www.facebook.com/halgriffiths and ask to be his friend.
Our beloved council has killed our beautiful tree by the
fountain and filled in the old underground toilets - what a
great feature they would have made (like the Cardiff toilets at
the Hayes), ah well progress is often backwards... All gone a
bit quiet on the poetry in pavements front though, maybe the
£15,000 has already been spent?

Lots of debate as to was it or wasn't it but blind Irish
referees have cost us dearly in the past. Either way a cruel
decision and one that ended Wales' RWC hopes. A brave fight back
with 14 men but it wasn't to be and we must now raise our
spirits for the clash with the Aussies in the play off final.
On the plus side Ponty beat Newport which puts us up to 3rd
in the table.

Controversy explodes as we learn that 3 artists are to be paid
£15,000 by RCT to commission 'words' to be put into pavements in
the new town centre development. Could this be a case of 'Unity
2'?
Ponty doing well in the league as always, currently lying 6th
with 3 wins out of 4. Wales 'should' beat Fiji to secure a
quarter-final place against Ireland in the RWC and if we do that
one too we could end up playing England! Oh yes!
Web site is to be overhauled after Christmas and a new message
board is also being developed so stay tuned.
18 Sept 11
Wales unlucky against the Boks but redeem themselves against
Samoa and if they win the next 2 games they'll no doubt play
Ireland in the quarter-final. I still think Australia will win
the Cup though. Ponty off to a reasonable start with 2 wins from
3 and 7th place in table early on. Celtic League? Who cares?
No-one around here.
Town development is slowly happening although still can't see
what a Poundland will bring to the place?
26 Aug 11
RWC squad announced and no place for Martyn Williams, Gareth
Delve or Dwayne Peel yet Gatland takes Stephen Jones, Lloyd
Williams, Mike Phillips, Lee Byrne... strange one. But I have to
say I quite fancy our chances against the Boks. It's a one-off
game, they hate their coach, you never know. Then again we could
end up beating SA and losing to Samoa. Should be fun anyway.
Poetry fans may be pleased to know that our local anthology is
selling well but we still have a few copies left to get rid of
from our first print run of 200 copies. To buy a copy just
Ponty kick off season against Llandovery this weekend.
Bit of debate on the board regards our new sloping pavements,
inlaid 'poetry' and cycling - get involved and start telling us
what you think!
13 Aug 11
Lots of confusion over which team was Ponty last night as the
Blues seemed to have as many Ponty players as Ponty did, ah such
is life when you are linked to a shit region. Wales have to beat
England today, although the second string England side actually
looks better than the first team last week! Strength in depth,
something Wales doesn't have and will never have as long as the
WRUin and teams like C****** mess about with players and we do
not have a 5th and maybe even 6th region in Wales. When will
these idiots learn?
Lots of debate regarding pavements and a little bit of a rant
from yours truly regards poetry in pavements too. Could this be
Unity II - the revenge of the taxpayer? Anyway, for some great
poetry why not snap up a great anthology while stocks last. Last
night's SW Echo too if you had it.
6 Aug 11
Don't often eat my words with rugby but I will do this time. I
thought England would put 20-30 points on us. Thanks Dawkins
Stephen Jones got injured very early on.
Just published the Poetry Anthology.
22 July 11
In the process of producing a poetry anthology to coincide with
5 years of winners of the Welsh poetry Competition. Should be
available to buy within a few weeks. More later...
Fixtures updated with all of next season's matches online now.
Wales due a few hammerings soon as they prepare for an early
bath thanks to Samoa in the up and coming RWC. Could this be the
end for Gatland and co.? If so, who will coach us next?
British & Irish Cup fixtures
Pool 1: Ayr, Cornish Pirates, Moseley, Neath.
Pool 2: Bristol Rugby, Cross Keys, Plymouth Albion, Munster.
Pool 3: Aberavon, Bedford Blues, Leinster, London Scottish.
Pool 4: Esher Rugby, Llanelli, London Welsh, Melrose.
Pool 5: Currie, Doncaster Knights, Rotherham Titans, Pontypridd.
Pool 6: Leeds Carnegie, Nottingham Rugby, Swansea, Ulster.

David J Costello wins the 5th Welsh Poetry Competition -
Congratulations to him and all other winners. More details on
the web site.
10 July 11
Been a bit busy with work and bimbling these last few weekends
so apologies for the lack of updates. Have now added a bimble
and another on its way soon. Results of poetry competition out
this Friday, plus details of anthology to buy very soon.
Wales due to lose to England in August plus lots of other
depressing results to look forward to. Ah, well Ponty season
ticket it is then :)
Usual idiots on politics board (they know who they are) so
thinking of changing a few things soon too.
Town looks like a bomb has been dropped on it and it's done £5
worth of damage. Progress eh, oooh er, lovely!
11 June 11
Lots of gossip on the board about town, our new AM, developments
etc. A record year for the WPC, results due July 15th. Wales
lose to Baa Baa's as predicted and a RWC to look forward to.
1 June 11
Summer's here then. Well, the rain is. Poetry competition is
closed, the rugby season is over, although Wales' 2nd team is
due a hammering against the Baa Baa's soon before more
hammerings against England and then the poor showing in the RWC.
I blame the lack of a valleys region myself ;) Plenty of gossip
on board as always although the politics has quietened down a
lot since the last election. Great to see our new MP and AM
doing absolutely nothing at all for Ponty so far, ah well, no
change there then. There's an old saying, you get what you
settle for and it seems we in Ponty are quite happy to settle
for nothing. Pub guide updated, and photos to follow... And must
mention the workers leaning on shovels all day long while the
European development millions gets eaten up. Large grey
pavements being layed all over town as Ponty looks to semi-pedestrianise
itself again. Hope they put some large plant type things in town
too and maybe then some shops will come back, although can't see
it myself :(
21 May 11
The evil WRUin allow the evil Turks to make 9 changes (was it?)
to their normal team in order to just edge Ponty in a stupid,
pathetic and meaningless 'league' play-off final after Ponty
already won the league by being the best team in Wales all
season on Thursday night. As it says on the 'west-Wales
sponsored BBC Wales web site' - 'The Parc y Scarlets outfit had
finished 16 points behind top-of-the-table Ponty after the end
of the regular season'. How many penalties without a yellow card
was it? And of course a spear tackle is now perfectly acceptable
when a Turk does it. That's the last time I buy pegs from a
scruffy pikey farmer I can tell you.
Meanwhile, the Welsh Poetry Competition is in it's last week so
hurry up with those entries folks.
Plenty of chat on the board as usual with politics, corruption
and personal insults taking centre stage - oh for a slapometer
instead of a karma rating ;) Still, if it makes them happy who
are we to stand in the way of free speech.
2 May 11
On the day Osama bin Laden gets creamed by Chuck Norris and Co.
and Ponty beat Aberavon in the Welsh Cup Final at Cardiff, Welsh
writer Dave Lewis releases his third book - a poetry collection
in 5 sections - 'Sawing Fallen Logs For Ladybird Houses'. To
read reviews or to buy the book (using PayPal) just visit Dave's
web site.
Wales rugby fixtures updated too with pre-World Cup matches.
And don't forget to vote on Thursday!
20 April 11
Ponty top the league - click here although no-one saw fit to
post it on our forum - weird? Maybe they thought it would make
us demand a 'Valleys Region' again :) Big game this w/e v
Bristol at Sardis but once again no-one bothers to post a
message on our forum to encourage fans to buy tickets - wonder
why?
Rumours that the town development has hit a snag with only 2
shops signed up to new precinct site - and let's face it who can
blame them? We've been saying for over 10 years that leisure and
tourism is the future and Ponty needs to re-brand itself as a
Victorian town and tourist hub but no-one listens... :(
Elections soon so make sure you vote! Mailing list started
again, hopefully one a month with best posts from board and
other news.
12 April 11
Get a FREE copy of Dave Lewis' first book, Layer Cake by
clicking here. Dave has also updated his web site with lots of
new stuff including his third book, out today!
Ponty beat Swansea (again) to make it through to the final of
Welsh Cup yet again but unfortunately the WRUin have decided to
play the final on a Monday when anyone working won't be able to
have a drink!
3 April 11
Applications for oil and gas drilling have gone in all over
south Wales - RCT, Merthyr and the Vale and Bridgend to name
just a few areas. Lets hope our councillors vote against
poisoning our environment when it comes before planning and
don't accept any backhanders to turn a blind eye. Not much
discussion on board yet but no doubt there will be soon.
Ponty beat Swansea to stay top of the table while regional rugby
is looking worse every week.
Dave Lewis' second book Urban Birdsong is now available on
Amazon kindle too. Just click here. Also worth knowing maybe,
that all Dave's old 'Observer' columns plus a couple of others
are now online on his web site.
Saffron takeaway to open soon, will the Llanover be the new
curry centre of Ponty when the Everest re-opens too?
27 March 11
Another good day in the sun for Ponty RFC as they see off
Merthyr in a tense battle to reach the semi-final of the Welsh
Cup. Ponty are still 1st in the League and also still in the
British and Irish Cup so all in all a great season so far!
12 March 11
Great win for Ponty against Neef (again) at Sardis which sees
them stay second in the table and still in the title race. Ponty
are also through to the semi-final of the British & Irish Cup
where they'll play Bristol at Sardis.
Dave Lewis's first book, Layer Cake is now available on Amazon
kindle - UK version / USA version.
Forum is starting to pick up again but we still need more
members so tell your friends to sign up and post!
22 Feb 11
Wales beat Scotland a week ago and Ponty beat Neef in the Cup
last Saturday with a great second half performance and a huge
home crowd - oh what a mistake the WRUin made eh! All those
valley folk just crying out for a regional rugby side to
support.
Entries starting to come in nicely now in this years' Welsh
Poetry Competition.
New website launched for all those local lads and lasses who
want to learn to drive this year:
Anthony King Driving -
6 Feb 11

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ALL THAT
New board finally seems to be taking off with same moans and
groans - would we want it any other way? Well, maybe, yeh. Ponty
rugby still brilliant! Poetry competition to be launched Feb 1st
with new judge.
Six Nations coming up soon too.
Extra:
Other pages to be added later, e.g. 'Bimbling'.
